Eddie D.T “Yung Reff” Bowens, 29, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin formerly of Lorain passed away suddenly on March 27, 2015.

Mr. Bowens was born in Elyria moving to Wisconsin 7 years ago.

Mr. Bowens was a graduate of Southview High School class of 2004, where he ran track, cross country, played basketball and football. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with UPS as a driver’s helper in Wisconsin.

Mr. Bowens enjoyed playing basketball, traveling, music, was an inspired rapper and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters Nyla L. Cross of Wisconsin, Omunique L. Jackson of Elyria; parents Doletha Bowens-Cornwell and step father Herbert Cornwell of Elyria, father Eddie Thomas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; brothers Aaron Bowens of Lorain; Edwalyer Coats of Lorain; Jerrael Overall of Elyria; Derrick Harris of Lorain; Devonntay Bowens and Chuck Cornwell Jr.; sisters Alicia Cornwell of Elyria; Octavia Lockhart of Milwaukee Wisconsin; and a host of other brothers and sisters, 20 nieces and nephews, maternal grandmother Phyllis Grant of Elyria; maternal grandfather Cleophus Bowens of Elyria; paternal grandfather Moses Groves of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lillie Cook, great uncle Richard and Henry Terry, paternal grandparents Ethel and Clinton Bowens.

Friends may call Wednesday April 8, 2015 from 11am until time of service at 12pm in The God’s Believers In Christ Church 520 W. 22^nd Street, Lorain Rev Thomas Bowens of Washington DC will officiate and Rev. James Williams Pastor will co-officiate, burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
