Letha Mae Brooks, 88 was born August 24, 1928 in Shannon, Mississippi to Mariah Jones-Miller-Hayes and John Tyler Hayes. Letha went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 10, 2016. At an early age Letha relocated with William Thornton from Nashville, TN to Elyria, OH. Letha remarried to Willie Brooks at a later time of her life. She leaves to cherish her memories to her loving sons; Reverend Arnette (Alice “Pat”)Thornton of Elyria and Quentin Brooks of San Diego, CA, daughters; Andrea (Calvin) Thornton-Slay of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brenda Lewis of Omaha, NE, Cheryl Thornton of Dallas, TX, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by brothers John Lee Edgar, J.D., Gene and Jimmie Lee Miller, John Edward, Elias, Robert Millard, David, Curtis Hayes, sisters, Ethel, Emma, Rubye, Juanita. Friends may call Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon at Jones Chapel A.M.E, 343 17th Street, Elyria with the Reverend Arnett Thornton officiating.
