Phillip Alan Carlton
Phillip Alan Carlton, aged 41 of Lorain, OH transitioned on November 4, 2016 as
the result of a pedestrian/car hit and run incident in Springfield, OH. He was born
May 17, 1975 to the union of Mansfield and Jewel Carlton. Phillip was a 1993
graduate of Clearview High School. Prior to relocating to Springfield, he attended
LCCC and worked in the book store. He was a student at Clark State
University in Springfield and worked as a server at Frisch’s Big Boy. He was
studying hospitality management which was a natural fit for him as his previous
employers included Jackelope, Mountain Jack’s, Moss’s Prime Rib and Spaghetti
House, Red Robin and May Credit Services.
He was a member of Restored Life Ministries in Springfield where he recently
received his ministerial license and a former member of New Life Deliverance
Ministries in Lorain. He loved to sing. Most of all we will miss his infectious laugh and sense of humor.
Cherishing his memory are his mother, Jewel Carlton, sisters Kimberly (James) Massie,
Angela (Donovan) Wilson, Allison Carlton, brother Timothy Carlton,
nephews: Donovan Wilson of New York, Kier Wilson of Elyria, Seth and Luke
Wilson of Westlake, niece Savannah Stella of Atlanta; his very special friend Shaunte
Dozier, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Mansfield ‘Pee Wee’ Carlton.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday,
November 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Deliverance Ministries, 400 Washington
Ave., Lorain, OH. Assistant Pastor Jerome A. Todd will officiate and Eulogist Bishop Jessie C. Berry. At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing. Please send all floral arrangements directly to the funeral home.
