Obituary of Leslie M. Taylor Leslie M. Taylor (nee Howard) 92, of Lorain passed away peacefully on November 25, 2016 in the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph of Lorain. She was born September 1, 1924 in Birdeye, AR coming to Lorain 70 years ago. Leslie was employed as a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lorain retiring in 1989. She was a member of Greater St. Matthew AME Church of Lorain where she served as on the Steward Board as a Stewardess (emeritus), a member of the Missionary Society and Church Treasurer. She enjoyed cooking, TV soap operas, gardening and traveling. Leslie is survived by her daughters: Brenda Lewis and Patricia (Ron) Jones both of Lorain, sons: Stan Yancey of Lorain and Tim (Michelle) Howard of Elk Grove, CA, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters: Naomi Baity of CA, Dorothy Wilson of Cleveland and Ann Brewer of Atlanta, GA and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Taylor, son Robert “Butch” Charles Yancey, parents Sidney and Josephine Davis, 1 brother and 4 sisters. Friends may call on Friday December 2, 2016 in the Greater St. Matthew AME Church, 1909 W. 24th St. from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Rev. Arnett Thornton will officiate.
