Willie Mae (nee Walters) Qualls affectionately known as “Will” received her wings and made her transition to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ, on Saturday August 23, surround ed by her loving family. Will was born March 3, 1940 in Troy (Pike County) Alabama to the late Cuvie and Daniel Walters.
Will was united in marriage to James Qualls and to this union four boys were born, Larry, Stanley, Anthony and James, Jr. The family home was always filled with love and laughter and all who entered were made to feel welcome. She treated her rela tives, and friends with love and respect. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Will was a faithful strong Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for over 50 years where she served on the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee and a member of the Missionary Society and served until her health began to fail.
Willie Mae, was a seamstress, loved her flowers, loved her col lection of Charlie Brown / Snoopy Characters. She was a sports fan, especially the Cleveland Cavilers and the Guardians. She was a retiree from the NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, OH.
Willie Mae has left a legacy of strength, determination and faith to her sons, Larry “Dobie” (Fannie), Stanley (Jody), Anthony (Michelle), James, Jr. all of Elyria, OH, Ten Grandchildren, and Five Great Grandchildren, her friend, Emma Wilson and cousin in-law, Joyce Williams, Six Sister-in laws, Six Brother-in laws and a host of Aunts, Uncle, Cousins and other relatives.
Will, is preceded in death by her husband, James, Sr., parents, Cuvie and Daniel Walters.
A visitation will be held on Thursday September 4th at 10 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11 a.m. located at Bethany Baptist Church 334 17th St. Elyria, OH.
