Wayne "Skin" Allgood Sr.

Wayne D.  "Skin" Allgood Sr. 81, of Elyria went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2020 following a short illness. He was born in Cowan, Tennessee to the late Walter and Edna Mae Allgood on December 23, 1938. He was a star football at Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio before moving back to Tennessee where he continued to flourish in basketball and football at Townsend High School where he graduated in May 1959.
He worked at Harshaw Chemicals, Standyne (which is now Moen), and York International but went to work as a school bus driver for S.B.S. Transit in Lorain, Ohio until he retired. He brought smiles to many lives where ever he worked.
Wayne was a very active man! He was a great fisherman, a great coach, an avid racquetball player, and a fantastic bowler; he loved softball and golfing as well.  Not only did Skin love to play but he also taught many people how to bowl. He coached Little League Baseball for many years representing the Westside. Wayne was inducted into the Elyria Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2003. 
He loved to tinker around with things in the garage. He worked on cars and loved to keep his yard looking good. Out of all of his accomplishments, he loved his family especially his children the most.
Wayne leaves to uphold his legacy, his ex-wife Marva Allgood; sons Wayne D. Allgood Jr. and Eric M. Allgood Sr. (Jennie) both of Elyria; daughter Trinya Dale (Alan) of Elyria; brothers Larry E. Allgood (Arlene) of Ashtabula and Jackie A. Allgood (Doreen) of Elyria; sisters Margaret "Shane" McFarland and Marilyn "Linda" Allgood both of Lorain, Margie E. Allgood-Gray of Winchester, TN; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter "Bo" and Edna Mae (Taylor) Allgood; brothers Elder William "Bill" Algood, Fred Allgood, and Lonnie Allgood; sisters Dorothy "Dot" Reed, Carolyn Hill, and Maxine Trimble; son Brent L. Allgood and 2 grandchildren. 

 Family and friends may call on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of Praise, 4545 Elyria Ave., Lorain, OH 44055, where Celebration of Life Services will be on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Bishop Melvin Brown will be Eulogist. Burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, OH 44035.
