Vera Harris-Henderson Obituary

Vera V Harris-Henderson, 84, of Elyria went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 30, 2020. She was born on November 1, 1935 in Tennessee she then relocated to Clarksdale Mississippi and married Curtis Henderson at the age of 22, after that she relocated to Elyria where she spent the remaining of her life.

She is survived by her devoted daughter and loving care giver Linda (Robert) Woolbright of Elyria; daughter Doris Harris of Elyria; son Curtis Mitchell (Twaina) Henderson Jr. of Lorain; 10 Grandchildren;, 27 Great Grandchildren and 16 Great-Great- Grand Children. and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins in Chicago, Atlanta, California and Tacoma Washington.

She is preceded in death by her father Hays Harris, mother Maggi Harris (nee Blake); sister Irene Harris (died in childhood); sister-in-law Betty Lou Harris; sister-in-law Cora “Coco” Taylor “Queen of the Blues”; brothers Percy Harris, Willie Harris, Burnell “Bunny J” Harris and Hays Harris; great grandson Dominque Coates and great grand daughter Samaria Lewis.

A service will be held for her on Tuesday April 14, 2020, due to COVID-19 only immediate family will be in attendance. She will be laid to rest at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
