Thelma Calhoun peacefully transitioned on November 1, 2020 after a brief illness at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain, OH. Affectionately known as “Midnite Swinga” she graced this earth on January 11, 1929 in Laurens, SC., and spent the last 70 years in Lorain/Elyria, OH.
She received her LPN training at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and was a dynamic business woman, creating an annual wine-sip that she promoted for over 20 years. She was a longtime member of the “Iron Stallions” motorcycle club, an avid billiard player and loved a good smack talkin’ card game. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Bobby Lee and Kevin Roy.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory Keith, Dennis Allen, and Brian Bernard and a host of grandchildren, great-grand and great-great children, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial to salute her remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 320 Middle Ave, Elyria. A Walk-Thru will be from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Mass begins at 11:00a.m. Father Charles Diedrick will preside.
