Sarah Ann George was born October 30th, 1949, to the late Eddie Scott and Beatrice Rentz.

Sarah was born in Selma, Alabama but spent most her years as a resident of Elyria, OH.

Sarah was a pilar of her community. She would have big back to school parties for children, she had a clothing ministry, as well as participating in many aspects of the Elyria City Schools where she retired after 31 years of service. Sarah received many awards and accolades for her endless generosity such as Mother of the Year and the Sojourner Truth Award just to name a couple.

Sarah is survived by son Rahsaan Graves (Emily), daughter Monica Mitchell, devoted nephew John Jackson (Sandra), brother David Rentz, sister Lillian Rentz, grandchildren: Torian and Marissa, Quiana, Roman, and Ramiah, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. 

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband Curtis George, parents: Eddie Scott and Beatrice Rentz, brothers: Willie Smith and Bobby Rentz, sister Annie Jean Ash.

A viewing will be held at 10am on November 15th, 2023, and a service to follow at 11am located at Carter Funeral Home 127 W Bridge St Elyria, OH.

Burial will take place at Brookdale Cemetery 41600 Oberlin Elyria Rd Elyria, OH 44035.
