Sallie Marie Rowe, 75, of Elyria, OH passed away peacefully Tuesday January 7, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born September 14, 1949, to Alfred and Betty Jane McDowell.
Sallie was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Sallie worked at the US Steel Mill in Lorain, OH for 30 years until she retired at the age of 55. Sallie loved to spend her day drinking countless cups of coffee and watching the Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and any game show that followed. She was a loving free spirit, who loved to travel the world and go on cruises. She loved going to the casino and winning big and spending an endless amount of time with her family and friends. To know her was to love her.
Sallie leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Arrianna Horton of Elyria, OH, Shannon Williams of Elyria, OH and her sons Jason Brown of Elyria, OH and Van Robbins, Columbus, OH. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren Darius McCall, Maiell McCall, Terriona Brown, Tasiah Brown, Parashaye Horton, Emery Horton, and Jason Brown Jr, 1 great grandson Apollo McCall, a brother, Allen Hull of Pennsylvania, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Sallie is preceded in death by the love of her life and partner in crime Joe Nathan Rowe, her parents Alfred and Betty Jane McDowell, and her loving brothers William L. Board (Pookie), Wylie McDowell, and Alfred T. McDowell Jr.
Sallie will be missed by every person that was lucky enough to know her.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday January 18, 2025, at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 326 Fuller Rd Elyria, OH where the Pastor Rev Dr Willie Gardener will be officiating. Viewing will begin at 10am with the Celebration of Life Service to follow promptly at 11am.
