SHIRLEY President-Thomas Obituary

 Shirley Ann President-Thomas was born in Myrtlewood, Alabama, on March 20th, 1955. She was the fourth of seven children born to the union of Abraham and Martha President. Shirley was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Oberlin. Shirley greatly enjoyed singing in the Senior Choir; serving in the Senior Usher Ministry; and participating in the Temple Health and Wellness Ministry. She was also very active in The Sisters of Wisdom, a women’s fellowship ministry. In addition to singing, Shirley greatly enjoyed reading and the challenge of jigsaw puzzles.

Shirley fell asleep in the Lord during the early morning hours of Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, surrounded by her children. She is survived by her daughter, LaKishia Thomas; three sons, Richard, Demetrius, and Abraham T. Thomas; two sisters, Gloria President and Brenda Hughes; one brother, Floyd President; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild, KeShaun Thomas; her oldest sister, Mary; and two brothers, George Jackson and Wilson President.

Homegoing Services will be on Monday, December 12th, 2022, at Mt Zion Baptist Church located at 47 Locust St Oberlin, Ohio 4074.  Visitation with the family at 10:00 a.m.; Service of Triumph at 11:00 a.m.; followed by interment at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin. Rev. Fred L. Bell, officiating.
