Roosevelt Hilliard Obituary

Roosevelt Hilliard (92) passed away peacefully in his home on December 11, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born on January 15, 1928 in Uniontown, Alabama.

He enjoyed farming, sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed by US Steel for 38 years, and retired in June 30, 1990.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Joseph (Bridget) Hilliard, and daughter, Evelyn Hilliard, both of Lorain, Oh., and grandchildren, Joseph Thomas, of Lorain Paris(Casey) Hilliard of Springfield, Oh, Nicole Hilliard and Tyra Hilliard both of Lorain; several nieces and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Hilliard; parents, Gertrude Sadler and lsadore Lanier; sisters, Rose Sadler, Lula Flowers.

Friends may call on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the Carter Funeral Home/ Chapel 3001 Elyria Ave, Lorain. From 10:00A.M-11:00A.M. Walk -Thru Only and a private service will be held for immediately family and Pastor Phillip Moorer will give “Words of Comfort.” Please wear a Mask and Social Distance.
