Robin Leroy Jones

Robin "Leroy" Jones 60, of Oberlin passed unexpectedly due to complications and illness on Saturday January 18, 2025, at Lake Point Rehabilitation in Hospice.

Leroy was the second born of four to Ruby (Bell) Ghani and Joseph Jones Jr. He was born May 20, 1964, in Oberlin, Oh. He was also the oldest son, and oldest grandson on both sides. Bertha and James Bell (maternal grandparents) Clara and Joseph Jones Jr. (Paternal).

While growing up he attended Oberlin City Schools. Eventually he relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and began doing factory work. Deciding to return back to Oberlin he worked at Sterks Restaurant.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching wrestling, reading, and working on cars. Leroy Loved Spending time with family and friends, playing cards, Dominoes, greedy just hanging out. 

He is survived by his daughter Christen Jones (Davida), two stepdaughters Paris Brown, Nija Franklin of Detroit, MI, two sisters: Paula (Richard) Jones of Elyria, Sandra Brown of Louisville, KY, brother Carl (Corese) Jones of Kokomo, IN stepfather Jamal (Glendora) Ghani of Tampa, FL stepbrother Darnell Taylor of Sandusky, OH, 14 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews, hosts of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Ghani, his father Joseph Jones Jr. and his niece Sha’Kara Brown-Hill. 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday January 31st, 2025, from 2pm-3pm at Carter Funeral Home 127 W Bridge St Elyria, OH.
