Robert Jones Mahoney

Robert Jones Mahoney, III was born on July 12, 1947, in Oberlin, Ohio to the late Mr. Robert Jones Mahoney, Jr. and Mrs. Sally Mahoney (Thomas-Woolfork), the oldest of four children. 

Bob was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021, with his family by his side at University Hospital Medical Center in Elyria.  

The family moved from Oberlin to Elyria in 1962 where Bob enjoyed growing up with many loving family members and friends, an avid sports fan, Bob enthusiastically supported the Cleveland and Ohio Teams through the rollercoaster ride of being a Browns, Cavaliers, and Ohio State fan over many years. NASCAR and drag racing were also his favorites as he spent many days at Norwalk and Dragway 42, and many hours watching the televised national events. In Bobby’s later years, his Ford Mustang, or in his words “my race car” was a great source of pride and dedication as he just enjoyed being on the track and driving across the finish line as fast as he could go. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mrs. Eileen Mahoney (Terry), two daughters Blair (Nick) Agostinelli and Consuela Mahoney, sons, Raynard Mahoney  Robert IV Mahoney and Reginald Moore stepdaughter Michelle (Sigel) Cuevas, two sisters Patricia Bush and Susan (Henry) Pope, brother Terry Woolfork, Aunts Fannie Hill and Elizabeth Sanders, two sisters-in-law Betty Bohannon and Linda Ewing, brothers-in-law Patrick (Wyonna) Terry and Daud-Abdur (Kaia) Rasheed and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. 

He is preceded in death by; Father Robert Mahoney, Jr. (1991), Mother Sally Mahoney (Woolfork) (2007), Brothers, Vincent Mahoney (2017), and Mark Jones Mahoney (2021).  

Friends and family may visit on December 28, 2021, at 10:00am until 11:00am followed by; “The Celebration of Life” 11:00am at Faith Ministries Christian Center 1306 Euclid Ave, Lorain OH, 44052
