Richard C Tarrant was born in Elyria, Ohio on September 25th, 1958. He was the son of the late Herman D. and Ozell Tarrant. Richard attended Elyria City Schools and graduated from Elyria West High School c/o 1977. Later he worked at Luxair Heating in Elyria.

Richard Tarrant was a man of many memories, many smiles, and much love. He adored his family with all his heart and always made us his top priority. He always lit up the room with his presence and his amplifying voice. He was loud, but his loudness was warm and filled with love and care. He also expressed his love through cooking, grilling, telling stories and speaking words only a few could understand.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories wife Paula Jones-Tarrant of Elyria, OH, his one and only son Cornilius (Duke) Tarrant of Sandusky, OH, four granddaughters: Latasha and Tatiana Tarrant of Elyria, OH, Faith and Alanha Tarrant of Lorain, OH, great granddaughter Zariah Tarrant of Lorain, OH, two sisters: Angelina (Judy) Tarrant and Linda Ferguson both of Elyria, OH, brother/best friend Earnest Beckett of Lorain, OH, a great number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Herman D-1985 and Ozell Tarrant-1998, brothers: Herman E. -1984, Ronald (Petey Joe)-1990, Ranson (Bay)-2004, James (Bull) 2002, sisters: Mary (Sue) -2012 and Azell (Nanny) -1971.

A visitation will be held on Saturday April 26th, 2025, at 10am with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11am located at Carter Funeral Home 127 W. Bridge St Elyria, OH.

Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery 41600 Oberlin Elyria Rd in Elyria, OH.
