Richard Edwin Moody

Richard Edwin Moody, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2022, at home. Richard was born March 27, 1970, in Elyria, Ohio and graduated from Elyria High School in 88’. He spent most of his life working in material handling for several years prior to relocating to Columbus. He was a valued employee with great work ethic and disciplined in keeping things in order.  

     Richard accepted the Lord as His Savior and attended Point of Grace Ministries in Elyria as a watch care member alongside family. He was a man of good character, who valued friends and family. As a devoted son, loving brother, and great friend Rich understood the importance of keeping in touch. He was an avid sports fan who didn’t miss a game and watched teams of all sports play ball. Rich had an award-winning smile that was accompanied by an infectious laugh that made him a joy to be around. His comical ways and joking manner kept everyone entertained.  

     Richard was survived by his mother, Edwina (Lawson) Johnson of Elyria, biological father, Gregory M. Edwards of Lorain, wife Barbara (nee Williams) Moody of Lorain, sisters Wytina Johnson and Erycka Johnson-Allen, of Columbus, Oh, brothers Tracy Moody (Judy), of Lorain, Oh and Walter (Pedie) Moody Jr., of Elyria, Oh. half siblings Gregory (Mac) Williams, Marcus Edwards, James (Jimmy) Morris, Anthony (Pokey) Moody, Devon Moody, Jada Moody, and Todd Moody and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Edwin and Hazel Lawson, Walter Jackson, paternal grandparents Molly Moody, Mary Tucker and Paul Edwards.  

I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 

Family will welcome friends to visit on Thursday May 5th, 2022, 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Carter Funeral Home 127 W Bridge St Elyria OH, 44035. May 6th, 2022, walk-thru service at 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at Point of Grace Ministries 6892 Lake Ave, Elyria OH 44035, Officiating Prophetess VaNessa Sykes-Young.
