Raymond J Cash

Raymond J. Cash went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 69. Raymond was born on January 8, 1952 in Youngstown, OH to Samuel and Sylvia Cash. He graduated from Lorain Admirald King High school in 1970. He married Gwendolyn Hopkins in 1971. Raymond has 5 children Reginald, Eric, Rochelle, Tiara, and Tonia. He has 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Ray was an avid “outdoors” man. You would never catch him sitting still indoors for too long! He was always on the go! He was affectionately known on the basketball courts of Lorain County as the “Wizard!” Ray loved to ride his bike all over the city. Studying his Dakes bible was another of his passions. He read the entire bible from cover to cover twice. Ray had a beautiful singing voice and passed hat down to all of his children. He would never leave your presence without saying, “I love you BACK BACK!”

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50years Gwendolyn Cash. His children Reginald (Tokeya) Cash, Eric (Lakeithian) Johnson, Rochelle (Allan) Carter, Tiara Dionne Cash, Tonia (Jamone) Jordan. Grandchildren: Kejanay, Deltrin, Mariah, Amber, Kayla, Katelyn, Marissa, Jerve-ya, Jazmere, Tonnia, AJ, Allantay, Jennay, and Nalej. Great Grandchildren: Raylan, Lived, Tamari, and Dior. His mother Sylvia, Brothers Anthony, Philip, Malcolm, Emmanuel aka Quinn, and brother in law Andre Jenkins. Sisters Janice who Ray nicknamed “Bird”, Bonita Hunter, and Vanessa Hunter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins who were like brothers and sisters, and aunts and uncles.

Ray was preceded in death by his brothers Samuel A. Cash Sr., Danny Gregory Cash, and his Father Rev. Samuel A. Cash Sr.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 29, 2021  at General Johnnie Wilson Park/Fulton Homes/Lorain. A "Celebration of Life" will begin at 11:00AM.
