Elder Rogers Rowser, Sr. (Roy), 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2023, and he took his last breath in the presence of his loving family in ICU at Mercy Hospital in Lorain, Ohio.
Rogers was born on Sunday, September 28, 1941, to the union of Jake and Lucille Rowser in Birmingham, Alabama. He joined the United States Army on April 11, 1967, in Bessemer, AL and was honorable discharged.
He retired from Ford Motor Company in Lorain after 30 years of service. Love to work on cars!
Rogers accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Brewerfield, AL, where the late Rev. Ed Craig, was the Pastor. He became a member of Church of North Coast in Lorain on March 8, 2009, under the leadership Pastors Louis and Tina Kayatin. He was an usher, he enjoyed visiting nursing homes, and he was also a part of the Men’s Ministry. He loved to take his grandchildren to church and talking about the bible.
Rogers leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 51 years, Cynthia Y. (nee Williams) Rowser; children Linda and Marilyn Vicky Hughes, Roynyelle C. Rowser and Roger (Evelisse) Rowser, Jr., sisters, Sarah Walker, Diana Rowser, Josephine Haywood, Irene Mitchell, Barbara (Braymond) Rice, Jeanette Gray, Jacqueline (Joe) Flowers all of Alabama, Katie Rowser (sister-in-law) of Lorain, Ohio; brothers, Jerome (Carolyn) Rowser, Jeffery (Pamela) Rowser both of Alabama, special granddaughters Tierra Stafford and LaToya Bonilla, special nieces Marie Rowser, Darlene Barkley, special nephew Joe Rowser, Jr., , sisters-in-law, Myrtis Barlow, Judy Williams and Katrina (Elton) Herndon.
He was preceded in death by his father Jake Rowser, Sr., Mother Lucille (Howard) King; Julia Mae Rowser (father 2nd wife), 1st wife Evelyn Hughes-Rowser, siblings, Jake Rowser, Jr., Joe Rowser, Sr., Houston R. King, Jr., Shelia Hoskins (Wilbert), Malinda Faye King-Jones, grandsons Solomon and Jason Tucker, Vicky Bell and sister-in-law Gennet Green, nephews Jerry Barlow, Jermaine Howard.
Services will be held on Thurs April 13, 2023, Wake 11 am - Service 12:00 Noon, Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Rd, Lorain, OH 44053, Pastor Troy Thompson, officiating, burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
