Pinkie Lee Robbins age 78 of Oberlin, Ohio passed away at the home of her daughter, caregiver Vanesa Thomas on the morning of Sunday April 30th, 2023, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 28, 1944, in Sawyerville, Alabama to parents Stonewall and Missouri Taylor. She was a resident of Lorain County and a graduate of Elyria High School.
Pinkie had been employed at the Wellington Golf Plant for many years until being hired at Ford where she retired in 1997.
Pinkie enjoyed cooking, baking, line dancing, gardening, traveling and she enjoyed attending church. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Pinkie is survived by her sons: Derrick and Charles Jr ( Renee) both of Elyria and Van Robbins of Columbus, Ohio, daughter: Vanessa Renee Thomas of Oberlin, Ohio, stepson Torrance "Tank" Vaughan, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, brothers: Willie Saine of Springfield, Ohio, Ike (Marry) Drummer, Michael Drummer, aunt Julia Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 3 uncles James (Willie) Lawson of Long Island, New York, Charlie and Clint (Norma) J Lawson both of Mobile, Alabama and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pinkie was preceded in death by her parents Stonewall and Missouri Drummer a son in infancy, sister Minnie Taylor Miller and brother Lorenzo Drummer.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 12th, 2023, at Mt Zion Baptist Church located at 632 W River Rd N Elyria, Ohio 44035 at 10am with a celebration of life to follow at 11am.
The burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery located at 41600 Oberlin-Elyria Rd Elyria, Ohio 44035.
