Peggy Wilson Obituary

Peggy Doris Wilson (nee Moore), 82, of Lorain, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, at her home. Peggy was born January 6, 1942, to the late George D and Winnie Moore in Pineville, Kentucky. 

Peggy moved to Oberlin, Ohio at a young age, and later on made Lorain, Ohio her permanent home. Peggy enjoyed watching Young and The Restless, Bold and The Beautiful, Court Shows (Especially; Judge Mathis, Judge Judy, The People's Court, and Divorce Court), Family Feud, The Sci-Fi Channel, Detective Shows, and Pictionary. Peggy was once employed with the Salvation Army and eventually became a homemaker full time to tend to home life with her children. She enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends. She loved the Blues and Gospel music (Always wanted to listen to Jesus is Love by The Commodores). She talked about how she loved dancing and skating with her friends and siblings in her younger days. She enjoyed feeding the birds and listening to them chirping outside of her window. Peggy was known to many as "Big Red." Peggy was known for being humble, laid back, and funny. She showered her children and grandchildren with unconditional love and support. Peggy was a member at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Peggy will be truly missed by her daughters; Cheri (Rev Otis) Jenkins and Audra (Michael Shannon) English both of Lorain, Sons; Robbie (Cindy) Moore of Franklin, Allen (Shawndale) Wilson of Elyria, Daughter in Law; Alica Wilson of Lorain, God Son Henry Walker Jr. of Lorain, Sister Louise Cannon of Lorain, Brother Dan Daniels of Lorain, Long time friend Veanie Hoskins of Lorain;  A special thank you to her caregiver and granddaughter Myra Walker and great granddaughter Nurse Camrey along with a host of other loving relatives and friends. 

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wilson, Parents; George D and Winnie Moore, Children; Joseph Wilson Sr., Dondi Wilson, Lizette Meeshell Wilson, and Misty Wilson, Sister Joan George-Chatman (Moore), Brothers; Roddal "Ronnie" (Barbara) Moore and Jerry Moore, Grandparents; May C and John D Jones, Grandchildren; Darren English Sr. and Ca'Ron Seymore, and Best Friend Betty McCown.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 17, 2024, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 3900 Clifton Ave, Lorain, Ohio from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Family viewing will be held at Carter's Funeral Home Chapel 300 Elyria Ave, Lorain, Ohio on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
