Patience Renee Chaney, 45 of Lorain went home to be with the Lord on
August 5, 2022. Patience graduated from Southview High School, Lorain, Ohio in 1995. Patience worked as a STNA for several years before continuing her education at EHOVE School of Nursing in Sandusky, OH graduating and then becoming an LPN in 2009. Patience was dedicated to the healthcare field and became a traveling nurse during the peak of the COVID pandemic. While many others were running out the way of danger; Patience being who she is went running in to help others. She loved and adored taking family trips with her daughter and nieces. Patience was always the life of the Party! Although she knew she wasn’t that good at it…she loved singing and dancing. She enjoyed fashion, especially shoes, shoes, and more shoes! She also loved her hair pieces and taking selfies! She had a smile that brightened any room and a natural humor like no other. She is famously known for her quotes “One thing for sure, two things for certain,” I’mma give you this one for da’ free,'' Smize (her version of smile)” and “That’s some Bulls***.”
Patience was born to John “Rocky” Morris Jr and the late Mary Chaney, both of Lorain. Patience is greeted in heaven by her mother Mary Chaney, Maternal grandparents Evin and Maggie Chaney, Paternal grandparents John and Margaret Morris, Stepmom Angie Morris, Maternal Uncle’s Robert, Walter, Evin Jr, Sanders, Willie Mack, Richard, Willie S, Maternal Aunt’s Mattie, Jettie, Jessie, Ada, and Paternal Aunt Colleen Rowe, sister Amanda Morris, and brother Jermaine Nelson.
Patience leaves behind her precious daughter Empreis (Emmy) Chaney and son Denzel (Denny) Patton, both of Lorain. She leaves behind siblings Shona Chaney, Keonn “Stone” Chaney, Tracie Davis, John Morris 2nd, Christie Sheffield, Rockelle Baker, Rocky Ward, Larhonda Ward, Carolyn Ward, Quanecia Ward, Quita Ward, Brandy Morris, Micheal Morris, Marquett Boone, and Yatta Boone. Patience also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews. While there is no way to name them all, the following had a very special place in her heart. Her niece Shekenna Chaney who was more like a daughter, her sweet niece China Chaney who she would often advise and Makayla Hildreth who she would help guide when needed. Her “special little girls; great-nieces DesMariah “Desi” and Daionna “Onnie” Finley and a host of family and friends.
To honor Patience’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on August 18, 2022, 12:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home 3001 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055. We invite anyone who knows her to attend and remember her wonderful life. We ask that all attendees come with a hand-written or typed message about a great memory you have of Patience along with a printed pic (if able).
