"ANNIE" Monica D. Whitehead of Lorain, Ohio, transitioned Saturday Sept 7th, 2024, at Anchor Lodge surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy illness. Annie was born on April 2nd, 1955, in Dermott AK. She was a loving mother and an exceptional sister.
She attended Lorain Admiral King. She was a member of Greater St. Matthew AME Church where she was a missionary for over 30 years, she was one of the churches cooks and was known for her "Catfish". She loved working in the church food pantry alongside of her mother. She received her culinary certificate from JVS in Oberlin, Ohio.
Annie loved going on long walks, loved to dance and draw. She was the "BEST" cook ver. You could always see her in her basic "White Tee and Black sweatpants" everywhere!! She loves Jesus and her family as well as family gatherings.
Annie is preceded in death by her Son Edward Allen and is survived by her Son Emery Whitehead and her Mother Clivetta Grayson, Grandsons: Emery, Emarion, E'donis, and one granddaughter Kelsea all of Lorain, Sisters: Marsha Dickerson of Elyria, Nancy (Richard) Simmons of Lorain, Brothers: Michael Arbertha of Lorain and Montell (Joyce) Arbertha of Upper Marlboro, MD and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 12th, 2024, at Greater St. Matthew AME Church 1909 W 24th St Lorain, Ohio from 10am to 12pm.
