Michael Joseph Watson

Our dearly beloved Michael Joseph Watson born November 30th, 1966, transitioned from this life on January 14th, 2025. He was 58 years old.

Mike was an accomplished sports player. He was a member of the 1979 Hot Stove, Class G, State of Ohio Champions, coached by his father Willie Watson. He played football at Oberlin High School and set school records as Quarterback; he also played on the Varsity Baseball Team. He was a Student Council President.

After graduating High School, Mike attended Oberlin College for three years then transferred to Long Beach State College in California. In his role as an admissions counselor, it afforded him the opportunity to advocate for inner city youth, which he was proud of.

Mike always seemed to have an infectious smile on his face.

Michael Watson is survived by his daughter, Emily Shivak; sister, Dolores (Shelly) Charlton; brother, Brett Watson; sister Satra Watson and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, and cousins.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Willie Watson; mother, Marsha Robinson; and infant sister Rachel Rae.

Mike's Memorial Service will be held on Monday January 20th, 2025, at 11am at Word and Worship Ministries 5065 Abbe Rd Elyria, OH, Pastors Jamie and Sian Johnson.
