Our Beloved Michael Duane Gooden Jr who resided in Garfield Heights, Ohio made his transition on December 1, 2022, suddenly at his home. He was born on August 27, 1973, in Lorain, Ohio to Michael Duane Gooden and Nilsa Iris Arce. He was 49 years old.
Michael was a Lorain High School graduate and earned his Associates Degree from Findley University. He most enjoyed spending his time with his family every chance he can get. Starting with his maternal grandmother, Michael spoke very highly of her, and she would be the main topic of his every conversation. He loved her so much he wanted to be just like her in all ways. He was an inspiration to others in his own way and he had his way of poking our brains to keep us thinking during deep conversations. Michael was intellectual.
Michael loved cooking, reading, meditating, and watching his scary movies. Although he had no biological children of his own, he was an outstanding uncle to his great nieces and nephews as if they were his own children, who also loved him dearly. As Michael loved to show off his outgoing personality, he had no regrets with being friends to ANYONE at no cost. Michael was an all-forgiving person. He loved everyone unconditionally even those who wronged him. He would always say he will let God fight his battles. He meant that literally.
Michael was definitely the life of ALL the parties. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His Mother Nilsa Iris Arce and his Father Michael Duane Gooden. Six sisters: Denise Gooden-Dallas, Lucille Isom-Jacksonville, Candice Gooden-Cincinnati, Amber Starr-Salem, Illinois, Ma'kayah Springer-Cincinnati, and Ariel Green-Cincinnati. Three brothers: Damon Feaster- Brooklyn, Brandon Starr- Odin, Illinois and Brayden Michael Duane Gooden-Georgetown, KY and other siblings. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends who love him dearly.
Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Maria Cristina Arce, his maternal grandfather Cesario Arce, both from Puerto Rico, his paternal grandmother Iola Gooden from Birmingham, AL and grandfather Samuel Gooden from Columbus, MS as well as some of his dearest family members.
