Michael Brown Obituary

In Loving Memory of Michael A. Brown
February 28, 1961 – July 19, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael A. Brown, who left us peacefully on July 19, 2024, in Strongsville Ohio, after a long and courageous battle with illness. Born on February 28, 1961, in Lorain, Ohio. Michael was a beacon of light and strength for all who knew him.

Michael was the beloved son of Mary Brown and Alfred Brown. He was a proud graduate of Oberlin High School, class of 1981, and went on to further his education at Lorain Community College.

Throughout his life, Michael exemplified dedication and hard work, traits that were evident during his tenure working for The City of Oberlin for over 25 years. His commitment to his job and his community will always be remembered and cherished.

Michael had a zest for life and a passion for the simple joys it offered. He loved to listen to music, bbq, go fishing and found immense pleasure in the serenity of the water. A sports enthusiast, he also enjoyed playing basketball, a game where he made many lasting friendships and memorable moments.

Family was at the core of Michael's world. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Geiger-Brown, who stood by his side through all life's trials and triumphs. Michael was a devoted father to his sons, Charles Fields, Robert Fields, Michael President-Brown, Jeris Geiger, Christopher President-Brown, and daughter Katrina Taylor. Michael's family extends to his brother, Kenneth Brown, and his 3 sisters, Sammie Jamison, Lillie Brown and Connie Brown, all of whom shared a close and supportive bond with him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Mary Brown, dear brothers, Herman Brown and Peter Brown, grand-daughter Saveah Marie Hamby, who he now joins in eternal rest.

Michael's legacy of love, strength, and commitment will live on through his family and friends. His presence in our lives was a blessing, and his memory will be a guiding light for all who knew him. He touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Michael A. Brown not for the illness that took him from us, but for the vibrant, loving, and dedicated man he was. His spirit will forever echo in our hearts.

A viewing will be held Monday July 29th, 2024 at 10am at Greater Noel Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C 3529 Ada Ave Lorain, OH 44055 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12 noon.
