Mattie Paschel

Mattie Uville Paschel, lovingly nickname “Kitten”, was called home to everlasting peace at the age of 87, on the 12th hour of Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Centerville, Alabama, where she graduated from Bibb County Training School. Mattie eventually settled down in Lorain, Ohio where she wedded the love of her life, Hubie Dean Paschel. Together, they raised a family of three daughters while enjoying fifty-seven years of holy matrimony.

Mattie cherished her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and home maker. Her love for flowers kept her in the garden for hours as she was an avid gardener who delighted in the fruits of her labor. Mattie also found great pleasure in playing the piano, one of her favorite past times. Studying the word of God and listening to gospel music was a daily routine for Mattie as her strong faith and trust in God was unwavering.

Home going celebration will be held at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Ave in Lorain, Ohio on Saturday October 15th 2022. Visitation from10am to 11am. Funeral service begins at 11am.
