Mary Patton

Mary L (Malone) Patton 81, of Elyria, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 24, 2021, after a short discovery and journey with cancer. She was born on September 19, 1939, in Holly Springs, Mississippi to Ebb and Sylvia Malone. During her early age, the family moved from Mississippi to Oberlin, Ohio.

She attended Oberlin High School.  After high school, she obtained a nursing career with Carter’s Nursing Home in Oberlin, Ohio for 22 years. Later, she moved to Elyria, Ohio, and began working for Ford Motor Company Lorain, Ohio. After 18 years, she decided to retire, and assist in the rising of all her grandkids and helping the elderly neighbors on her street. 

She will be sadly missed by her, ex-husband/best friend, Jack Patton Sr.; sons, Jack Wesley Patton Jr., of Ashtabula, OH and Todd Patton of Elyria, OH; daughters, Kelly Patton(Walter Dobbs) of Atlanta, GA, and Patricia Patton of Charlotte, NC; sister, Lucille(Joe) Atwood of Lorain, OH; brother, Allen (Mary) Malone; aunt Willa B Holloway of Lorain, OH and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ebb and Sylvia Malone; son, James Malone; brothers, Freddie Lee and Robert Malone, Nephew, Michael Isom and Nieces, Theresa (Malone) Glynn and Kim(Atwood) Patton.

A walk-Thru will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 10:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. at the Church on the North Coast/Lorain 4125 N. Leavitt Road and Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Westwood Cemetery, 455 Morgan Street, Oberlin. Social Distancing and Mask Required.
