Marvin Leon Brown
Marvin Leon Brown left this world unexpectedly on May 7th, 2025. Marvin was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 12th, 1955, to the late James and Roger Mae Brown. He attended Little Rock Baptist Church at a young age. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School.
After graduating Marvin enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1973 and completed four years. Upon returning home Marvin began his career in the Cleveland surrounding areas for GTE installing phone systems for Sears Department stores. Eventually, being bought out by Fujitsu Marvin continued to travel to Detroit, Pennsylvania, and Kansas. His career kept him travelling, allowing him to navigate thru different states. Once again, the company being bought and now called Altura he continued his skills where he would win the Corrolla Cup Award beating out candidates from all over the US and Canada.
In March of 1999 he would meet the love of his life Sherryl (Robinson) Brown while working installing phone systems for Baldwin Wallace College in Ohio. Marvin would pack up and move to Ohio in October to be with his love whom he later married on 02/14/2000 in Las Vegas! He retired from Altura and began working for NASA where he just retired on his 25th wedding anniversary February 14th, 2025.
Marvin often called " Mr. Genius" because he could put together anything without reading the directions. Marvin enjoyed watching sports, particularly Cavs or the Browns, gardening, playing games on electronic devices, assisting others with their computer problems, helping his grandchildren with schoolwork or any other challenges they may have been facing, and cracking jokes on the Mrs.
Marvin will be sadly missed by his beautiful wife Sherryl (Robinson) Brown, bonus son Ezais aka Scooter Robinson (Lely), grandchildren Jacob, Myhkalah, Trevor aka Cory, and Nehemiah, and A’Mari brothers: Calvin Brown (Santa) and Esau James Brown, sisters: Gloria Brown, Cynthia Mungin (Charles), Virginia Ann Palmore and Helen Robinson, Aunts: Mary J. Brock and Lula Fagan, Uncles: Isiah Stewart (Mary) and James Stewart, special niece Sancal, best friends: Robert Williams of Chicago and Al Naab of Cleveland, OH, his favorite barber Lamar Lusane, many great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roger Mae and James Brown, two brothers: Michael, Frederick, and Eric Brown.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 14th, 2025, at 11-12:30pm with a Celebration of Life to begin at 12:30. Services will be
be located at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church 632 W. River Rd N Elyria, OH.
Family has requested to meet at the church, no precession coming from home to the church.
Burial will take place in Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL.
