Lynett Hill (nee) Thomas Obituary

Times are rough and she had enough so on Thursday December 24, 2020 she said, “yes” to the will of God. Lynnett Hill (nee) Thomas, 62, of Cincinnati, Ohio transitioned peacefully at home after a lengthy illness.

Lyn was born in Oberlin, Ohio where she attended the Oberlin City Schools, graduating in 1975. She accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Glorious Faith Church. In 1975, she married her high school sweetheart, to which two children were born. Lyn relocated to Cincinnati in 1996 with her sister.

Lyn had a gentle spirit full of thanksgiving, with every step and breath she took she’d always say, “oh Lord “, I thank you. Lyn loved her family and strived for reunification. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren and cooking. Lyn was connoisseur of food and always made sure everyone ate!

She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 daughters; Wreshia Yancey of Houston, TX and Deanna Yancey of Cincinnati, a sister, Sheila Darden of Cincinnati, a brother John “Wooten” Ellington of Elyria, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Darius Groves, Janel Yancey, Chanel Yancey all of Cincinnati; Deionne Gibson of Dayton, Ohio and Aaron Yancey of Houston, TX; 7 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille Thomas, sister Della Thomas and brother John Thomas Jr.
