OBITUARY

                Lloyd Patterson Walden was born June 5, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was the first child born to the union of Samuel Walden and Lonnie Thomas. Later in his life, he accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized and became a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He attended public schools and received his Ohio Certificate of High School Equivalence in 1980.

He has lived in Ohio all his life, except for when he moved to El paso, TX five years ago. He had two sons, Brent and Kevin. Over the course of his adult life, he was employed as a Merchant Marine, at Shubert Buick, truck driver, he also was enlisted in The United States Air Force. However, his longest held position was at The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, where he retired after twenty-six years.

In his spare time, Lloyd enjoyed shopping at Walmart, fishing, talking on the CB Radio and travel. He was blessed to experience an overseas tour; with stops over in Paris, France; Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. From time to time, the family vacationed in Texas, Colorado, and Georgia.

Even during the time of his illness, Lloyd became the Audio/Video operator at Mount Zion Baptist Church, until he departed for Texas.

Lloyd is survived by two sons, Kevin (Karla) of El Paso, Texas and Brent (Sandi) of Sandusky, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kevin Walden Jr., Ebony Walden, Elijah Gunter, Jada Gunter, Isaiah Saldana, Sarah Barnes and Adam (LaToya) Olzack; and nine great grandchildren. No surviving siblings.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his father Samuel Walden, Fannie Walden, Sister Sharon Ann, Twin daughters and his beloved wife Linda Walden.

Lloyd was extremely dedicated to his family, children and grandchildren. He peacefully departed this life on Thursday afternoon, March 2, 2023, at Kindred Hospital, in El Paso, Texas. Kevin and Karla Walden, his faithful and loving son and daughter in law were with him every day until his transition.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday March 17th, at Mt Zion in Oberlin, Ohio with Pastor Bell eulogizing. Viewing will be at 10am and services will begin at 11am. 

Burial will take place at Westwood Cemetery also located in Oberlin, Ohio.
