Lillie Ruth (White) Powell

On November 23rd, 2022, at the earthly age of 83, Paradise welcomed Lillie Ruth (White) Powell - a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, friend, and a familiar face to many. Affectionately nicknamed “Pigeon” by her father, Lillie was born in Ansley, Alabama on August 21, 1939, and made
her residence in Elyria, OH.

Lillie has now been reunited with her parents Charles B. & Ida Mae White, Stepmother Ruthie Mae White (nee Shepherd), her sister (Betty Jean Tucker (nee White), and her Aunt Eunice Hubbard (nee Seymore). Still surviving to treasure a legacy of precious family memories are her beloved husband Joe H. Powell of 62+ years. She leaves to cherish her memories Stephanie Henson (nee Powell), Michelle Horton (nee Powell), Carla Powell, and son Marlon Powell; six grandchildren: Timothy Powell, Jourdan Powell, Jasmine Henson, Mica Powell, Myles Henson, and Mikayla Horton, along with 12 great-grandchildren.

Lillie was employed with the Elyria Methodist Home, Pipe Plugs Inc., Elyria Chronical Telegram, followed by the General Motors Company (GM). She enjoyed spending time
with Family, attending any Worship Experience at Second Baptist Church, riding horses, roller skating, cooking/baking, dancing, bowling, being an Eastern Star and traveling by way of cruise ships. On top of all that, Lillie’s Relationship with THE LORD was her Foundation.

The Eastern Star Service will be held on Thursday, December 01, 2022, at
7:00PM (Visitation Hour at 6:00PM) at Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane,
Elyria, Ohio 44035.

The Homegoing Celebration will be held at Second Baptist Church on Friday, December 2nd, at 11:00AM and the Visitation Hour will begin at 10:00AM.
