Kenneth Allen “Gizmo” Harris

Kenneth Allen “Gizmo” Harris, 63, born in Elyria, Ohio passed unexpectedly on Sunday July 5th, 2026.

Early Years

He was the youngest brother of three. He loved fishing, hunting, and barbecuing with his grandad James Bishop. He also played baseball at Little League South. He loved to swim which came to him naturally. When he was a teenager, he became a lifeguard and in high school he joined the swim team. During his time on the swim team, he won awards individually and with the team as a testament to his skill in the water. Kenneth graduated from Elyria High School in 1981. He also completed a few college courses as a part of his higher education.

Church

Kenneth was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was the van driver for the church. He would pick up members of the congregation and take them to services. He would also drive the van for the youth congregation and would take them to their yearly conferences that were held.

Skills and Hobbies

Cooking was a major highlight of Kenneth’s life and if you knew anything about him it was that he loved to eat! He had a different variety of things that he could cook and a special skill of making some of the most delicious meals out of practically nothing. Two of his special and most delicious dishes were pork steaks and gravy and oxtail stew. He also worked various jobs from hauling steel on 18 wheelers to driving tow motors in various factories. Kenneth also thoroughly enjoyed watching Football and Golf. He spent a lot of time watching Anime with his favorites being Naruto and Dragonball Z. He also enjoyed reading Old Westerns and Comic books especially the DC Universe.

Children and Family

Kenneth always had a soft spot for children. He raised three children: Namon Rondell, Tameka Sherrelle, and R.T. Darnell Oliver. Everything came full circle when on June 6th, 1994, Sylvia Le’Jean Harris was born and on November 9th, 1995, Richard Andre Harris made his grand entrance into the world. He also had a stepdaughter, Naquita Lynelle Hines. Kenneth also played a role in his nephew, Tron Harris’, life. But his pride and joy lay within the time he spent with his granddaughters. Mallerie Rose “Duckie” Pames, Naima Ruby “Bubbles” Pames, Symphony Elise “Touche” Pames, and Myssiah Shirley “Shorty Pip Squeak” Hines-Grandberry. In this whole blended union of children that he loved and cared for there is a total of 16 grandchildren! He also had a few friends, who he shared a bond with, that he called his brothers Christopher Crook, Alfonso Woods, and Eric Wright.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter Sylvia Le’Jean and his Son Richard Andre. His Bonus children, Naquita Lynelle, Namon Rondell, Tameka Sherrelle, and R.T. Darnell. His nephew Tron Harris and nieces Mya Harris and Racine Taylor. He also is survived by his older brother Keedee (Keith) “Geech Greedo” Harris.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Jean (Tommie Lee) Sutton, his father Randy Madison. Older brother Kevin Andre “Fox” Harris. God Sister Garland Rae Wingard. Paternal Grandparents James & Helen Virginia Bishop. Nephew, Andre Harris.

There will be a visitation held on Saturday July 25th, 2026, at 10:00am with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00am located at Mt Zion Baptist Church 632 West River N Elyria, OH.
