Juanita was a lifelong resident of Elyria. She passed away after battling a short illness. She was born to the late Alonza L. Williams Jr. and Mary L. Williams-Bentley. She attended and graduated from Elyria High School. She was employed by the City of Elyria for 30 years. Upon retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing spades, rummy, and solitaire. She also loved putting together 500+ piece puzzles and word search puzzles.
Juanita was an active member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She loved attending Sunday School and Bible Study. Juanita is survived by her children: Maurice Williams Sr., Michael Riggins, Michele (Gary) Jackson, Amy Scott, and Raymond (Tia) Riggins, Siblings: ET (Mary) King, Bernard (Carolyn) King, Jeanette Riggins, Jacqueline (Art) Grandberry, Jerry (Paquita) Williams, Andrea Hall, Alonza Williams III, and Alicia Blandin.
She is also survived by grandchildren: Benny Jr., RaShaun Lamar, Maurnita, Maurice Jr., Michael, Deanna, Raymond 1, Raymond 2, Gene, Raiyanna, Nikki, Amberly, and Cedirc. She will be missed by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her special caregiver and AKA partner-in-crime, Sharon Terry, special friends: (Golden Girls), Sallie Rowe and Minnie Jackson.
Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Mary and father, Alonza; sister, Patricia Scott, brother, Joseph Williams, granddaughters: Myeisha Bodiford and Ray-Lyn-D Riggins; nephews: Erick Lovejoy, Bernard King, and Tony King, and niece Andrea Wright.
A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday September 12th, 2024, at Unity Baptist Church.
