It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Joseph (Joe) L. Church III on November 10, 2020. Joseph was born in Shelby, Tennessee on July 15, 1951 to the loving union of Joseph & Annie Mae Church Jr.
Joseph attended Admiral King High School. Throughout the years he primarily worked as a day laborer but enjoyed working on cars and providing handyman services. Joe was a good neighbor and loyal friend until the end always out and about helping those in need throughout the community. That is what he truly enjoyed, he was there any time you needed him. He loved collecting baseball cards and piggy banks for the great grandchildren. He was a TV junkie that loved talking about the television shows and movies he watched. Which turned into him becoming an avid movie collector. He enjoyed and talked often about the time he spent living in Clearwater, Florida.
Joseph is survived by his only daughter Annice (Kevin) Young of Crofton, MD. His grand-daughter Brianna Bond of Crofton, MD. His great-grandchildren Ma’Karee & Madasyn Bond of Crofton, MD. He is survived by his siblings Brenda Church of (Cleveland, OH), Linda Church & Regina Church of (Lorain, OH), Patricia Riley of (Lorain, OH), Gregory (Susan) Church & Henry (Christina) Church both of (Lorain, OH), sister-in-law Tawana Church of (Lorain, OH) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and longtime friends he loved dearly.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Annie Mae Church and his younger brother Donald Ray Church Sr.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 12 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel/ Lorain. The Rev. Rufus Buchanan will officiate.
