John David “Johnny” Robinson, 69, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 26, 2020 surround by his family after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 31, 1950 in Saluda County, South Carolina to Lewis & Claudine (nee Settles) Robinson. In 1952, Johnny moved to Ohio with his parents and siblings where he resided until his passing. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1969. He joined the United States Army in December of 1969 as a Specialist E-4 until his discharge in December of 1971. After his time in the United States Army John went on to work at York International for 33 years until his retirement. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Robinson & Claudine (nee Settles) Dean, sister, Ann Robinson-Edwards, and brother, Lewis Robinson. Survived by his death are his three brothers, James Robinson, Rodney (Kathleen) Robinson, and Calvin (Elizabeth) Robinson, sister, Donna Mitchell. His son Jon (Mary) Robinson, daughter, Ann Dolin-Flowers, many nieces, nephews, and a host of grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Carter Funeral Home 127 W. Bridge St., Elyria, Ohio 44035 on August 5, 2020 at 11am. The service is limited to 25 people due to COVID-19 guidelines. Masks must be worn, and social distancing is a must. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at a later date. YOU MUST WEAR A MASK!
