Obituary

John A. Lewis Transitioned to heaven on Saturday, March 11, 2023, peacefully at his home in Elyria, Ohio. He was born November 1, 1939, to Magnes Lewis and Laura Butler in Columbus, OH.

John moved to Los Angeles, California as a young man where he was employed for over 30 years as a movie set prop master for Paramount Studios and Warner Bros Studios. There he met the love of his life, Roxanne Jones. They married and relocated to Elyria, Ohio to be near family. In retirement, John was the co-director of Asbury UMC Food Pantry for 12 years.

John leaves to cherish his memory his wife Roxanne, daughter Joanna Lewis, stepsons Tony Rayner and Jason Woods, grandchildren John III, Kelly, and Bronson, 3 great-grandchildren, Mother-in-law, Elaine Jones, Brothers in law Raymond Humphrey and Greg (Lora) Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was preceded in death by parents Magnes Lewis and Laura Butler, son John II, four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may join us Saturday March 18th, 2023, at 1 pm for a memorial service located at Original Church of God 312 Edward St Elyria, OH 44035.
