Jo Ann (Davis) Dawson

Jo Ann (Davis) Dawson 71, of Elyria made her transition to the Lord at home on September 23rd, 2024.

Jo Ann “Bae Bae” as she was known to family, was born on February 7th, 1953, in Elyria, Ohio to Sallie Mae and Joe Ben Davis.

Jo Ann Dawson was a force to be reckoned with. She was the true definition of a South Side girl and was proud of it. Jo Ann retired from

General Motors after 32 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was an Elyria High School graduate, class of 1971.

Jo Ann loved to do puzzles, watch westerns and keep her car clean. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and most of all caring for

others. She was the eldest of 4 sisters and she took her role as their protector as her God given duty.

Jo Ann leaves to cherish her memory, her son LaQuann Lee Dawson Sr, her sisters; Lizzie Taylor, Joyce Harris and Yvette Beckwith (Darian) and daughter of love, Michelle (Aguiniga) Moore (Jason), grandchildren; LaQuann Lee Dawson Jr, Malik E Aguiniga, Marcquis Aguiniga-Moore,

Mar’Sean Moore and Katia Moore, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. When it comes to her, everyone is family.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her mother Sallie Mae Bryant Davis and father Joe Ben

Davis.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday October 2nd, 2024, beginning at 11:00am at Bethany Baptist Church, 334 17th

Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Services will begin promptly at 12:30pm.
