Jimmie Hardin Cross " Wig"

Jimmie Hardin Cross "Wig" was called back to be with the Lord on Saturday June 3rd, 2023. He was born on December 12th, 1943 in Harrell, Arkansas to the union of Jimmie Cross and Viola Cross.

Jimmie grew up in Arkansas, but in his early adult years he moved to Elyria, Ohio. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company for many years. Although at some point in his life, moving to Texas was his choice. Texas would become his forever home. He was a hard-working man and often found other things he enjoyed doing outside of working at Ford. He loved to paint houses and build his own unique projects.

Jimmie was well loved by the people at his church and apartment complex. He was also loved by the people he would help do handy work for.

He was a family man and loved all his family. Jimmie was also a faithful man of God. He became a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, which became his home church.

Jimmie will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, three children: Tony Cross, Alford Cross, and Angela (Cross) Campbell.

Siblings: Sue Harring, Judy Capers, Bobbie Nolen, Donnie Cross, Clearance Cross, Genice Smith, Jeanette Cardwell, and Jeanette Freeman. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that he loved dearly.

Jimmie was preceded in death by both his parents Jimmie Cross and Viola Cross, Sisters: Lois Walker, Billie (Raye) Stewart, Wilma Allen, Jimmie (Doris) Land, Jimmie (Delores) Herring, Perry Cross and Brother: Curtis Cross.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 24th, 2023, visitation at 1:00pm with a service at 2:00pm located at Carter Funeral Home 127 W. Bridge St Elyria, Ohio 44035.
