Jessie Henry Obituary

Bro. Jessie Henry was born to William Lloyd and Elizabeth (nee Huffman) Henry on November 12, 1943 and he took his wings to glory on Friday, September 18, 2020 following a short illness.

Jessie was born at Elyria Memorial Hospital known now as University Hospital in Elyria, Ohio.  He attend Elyria City Schools in which he graduated in 1961.  He began working for Pepsi Cola after graduating and continued his employment there until he retired.

Jessie was a long time and faithful member of the Original Glorious Apostolic Church.  He loved the Lord and was known for his post as an Usher at the entrance door to the Sanctuary.  He loved being an usher and held that position until his passing.

His memory will be cherished by his stepmother, Louise Henry; brothers Nathan (Gladis) Henry of Minneapolis, MN, Leo (Joann) Henry of Elyria, Phillip Henry of Kampden, MA and Renaldo (Chantel) Collins of Fort Wayne, IN; sister in law Joyce Phillips of Elyria and Foster Sister and Nurse Rose O’Neil; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his OGAC Church family.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Lloyd O. and Francis C.

A walk-thru viewing will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 in the Carter Funeral Home, Chapel, 127 West Bridge St., Elyria.  From 10:00 a.m. till 10:30 and a graveside service will be at 11:00a.m. at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Pastor Doris Williams will give "Words of Comfort’." Due to COVID-19 guidelines, you are required to wear a MASK and Social Distancing is a must.
