Howard Dukes

Howard Dukes 71 of Elyria went home to be with the lord on December 6,2023, following a brief illness at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria Ohio

Howard was born December 6,1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, moving to Elyria in 1967.  He graduated from Elyria High class of 1971 where he met the love of his life Loretta. He was employed at Englehardt retiring after 30+ years of service.

Howard was an avid football fan especially when it came to his favorite team, the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed BBQ and he was known for his famous ribs. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He will be sadly missed by his son Kevin Dukes of Lorain, his grandsons Kevant Dukes, Kevin Dukes Jr, Kamron Dukes of Elyria, Keion and Kalvin Dukes both of Lorain, granddaughter Bria Carter of Elyria sister in laws: Patricia Madison of Elyria and Janie Dukes of Columbus, Ohio, brothers in law: Gene (Marsh) Madison, Robert ( Joann) Madison all of Elyria, Tyrone (Kevin) Madison of Cleveland, Bruce Evans of Lorain, a special cousin Charles Willis of Cleveland and a special niece Nachelle( Nikki) Dukes of Elyria and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives

He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Dukes of 45 years, his parents Charlie Dukes and   Mildred Dukes, two brothers: Charles Dukes and Calvin Dukes, sister Charlie Mae Dukes, niece Angie Dukes and great nephew Stephen (Antonio) Dukes and goddaughter Sycou Johnson.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday December 19th at 10am with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11am at Carter Funeral Home 127 W. Bridge st Elyria, OH.
