Hattley Godbolt III (Butch), 74 of Elyria passed away peacefully September 27th, 2023, at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born on May 25th, 1949, in Wadsworth, OH to the late Hattley Godbolt Jr and Beatrice N. Godbolt (Foley).
Hattley attended Elyria High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge he returned home.
He was employed by Ford Motor Co., Ridge Tool Co., as an over the road truck driver and Diamond Products as a machinist, retiring from Diamond Products.
Hattley enjoyed car racing, working on cars and also watching all Cleveland sports.
He is survived by his daughter, Monet N. Godbolt, Cleveland, sons: Justin S. Godbolt, Elyria, and Denzel R Godbolt (Regina) Las Vegas, NV. Nine grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers: Louis T Godbolt and Kevin F. Godbolt, and sister Lizabeth L. Eisom all of Elyria and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hattley is preceded in death by his parents Hattley Jr. and Beatrice N. Godbolt; paternal grandparents: Louis and Bessie Jones, maternal grandparents: Warren and Nellie Foley.

A viewing for Mr. Godbolt will be Thursday October 12th, 2023, at 10am with a celebration of life to follow at 11am at Lake and Walnut Church of Christ 1101 Lake Ave Elyria, OH 44035.
