Gerald Smith

Gerald Smith, 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Born on June 7th, 1962, in Caruthersville, Missouri to a loving mother Lou E. White.

Gerald graduated at Midview High School in 1980; Atterbury Job Corps in Edinburgh, Indiana where he majored in Brick Masonry. He was devoted brother, a loyal friend, and someone who always went out of his way to make others feel valued.

Gerald worked with P.G.W. Auto Glass, where he was admired for his dedication and work ethic. Outside of work, he enjoyed sports, music, and cooking. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family especially during holidays and special occasions.

Gerald leaves behind siblings; Artavia Smith of Elyria, Ohio, Vanessa Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Danny Smith of Elyria, Ohio, Adrian Smith of Columbus, Ohio, and Keeli White of Columbus, Ohio along with a host of nieces and nephews who've been touched by his love.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lou E. White, his great-grandmother Lena Mae Cummings, brother Dennis Smith and brother-in-law George Thompson.

There will be a visitation held on Friday October 3, 2025, at 2pm with a Celebration of Life to begin at 3pm located at Carter Funeral Home 127 W. Bridge St Elyria, OH.
