Georgette Smith Celebration of Life

Ms. Georgette (Cookie) Smith (nee Jones), walked peacefully into her heavenly home on Monday March 13th, 2023, at the age of 64.

Georgette was born to Daniel Jones Jr. and Georgia Jones on November 27th, 1958, in Rosedale, Mississippi. Georgette enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her wittiness could fill the room with laughter, and she had a unique way of finding humor in any situation. Georgette always loved taking care of other people and spent her adult life ministering to others through the gift of cooking and providing health care. Her larger-than-life personality will be dearly missed.

Georgette is survived by her son, Anthony (Tony) Smith Jr., daughter Sunny (Dave) Gilmore, grandchildren Anthony Smith III, Briona Smith, Jasmine Osborne, Jamar Smith, Thaia Smith, Giuliana Gilmore, and London Gilmore, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings Madeline (Randy) White, Kedrick (Kim) Jones Sr, Daniel (Chubby) L. Jones, Pamela Quinn, Shawn Quinn, nieces, nephews, a host of loved cousins, friends, and co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her Father Daniel Jones Jr., Mother Georgia M Jones, Sisters Sharon Jones and Sylvia Jones, and Brother Ronald Johnson Sr.

At Georgette’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers and donations, we ask that you donate to the American Cancer Society to help with research, education, advocacy, and service efforts to help end cancer.
