Eric D Smith

Eric D Smith passed unexpectedly on February 14th, 2022. He was a loving caring father, son, brother, grandson, friend, and mentor.

Eric worked for Mercy Hospital Lorain and previously for several years at Valero on Oberlin Ave also in Lorain.

He loved vacations, video games, laughter, movies, working, family, and friends.

His greatest accomplishment and joy was when he became a father, and his goal was being the best father, son, brother and friend.

He leaves to cherish in his memory son Bryson Smith and girlfriend Markita Thomas.  His mother Arnika Smith (Robert Hughes), His father Eric Madison, sisters Dominique Smith, Shaquitta Smith, Marquitta Smith and Arnika Smith, Grandparents Gwendolyn Davis, Charles Smith, and Charles Madison Sr, 15 nieces and nephews, 1 great niece, his aunt Gwendolyn Tillman, his uncle Charles Tillman, a host of Great Aunties and Uncle's cousins Charnele Tillman, Kamaron Tillman, Raymond Wallace, Bruce Evans, Chade’ Delaney, Derick Madison, his best friend/brother Fabian Vasquez. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Bertha West and Costella Madison, and uncle Raymond Smith, Aunts Vanessa Ballentine and Karene Tillman.

Services will be for Friday, February 25th, 2022, at the Carter Funeral Home 127 W Bridge St in Elyria, OH 44035, his wake will start at 10am, followed by his services at 11am. Pastor Ronnie Austin from Bridging the Gap in Chicago, Illinois will be conducting services.
