Emma Jean Greenhill

Emma Jean (Ammons) Greenhill 67 passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, after a brief illness. Emma was born April 20, 1954, in Lorain, Ohio to the late Willie T. Ammons, Sr. and Adella (Standifer) Ammons –Johnigan.  She was the fourth of their twelve children. 

Emma attended Southview High School where she became a life member of Soul Sisters Club.  She found joy in life caring for her family and her love of animals.  She loved being around her large family, devoting time to cooking, photography and caring for her many plants. And love challenging her brothers in playing a game of pool. 

 She leaves to cherish her memory husband of 49 years Clifford; daughter Delores of Douglasville, GA; sons Clifford Jr. and Brian both of Lorain; grandchildren:  Javion Wint, Chase Greenhill and Brenna Greenhill of Lorain.  She leaves six brothers:  Willie (Jennifer) of Lorain; Tommy Lee (Dawn) of Elyria; David (Denise) of North Ridgeville; Ricky of Elyria; Jimmy (Rosa) of Lorain; and Michael (Bridgette) of Elyria; four sisters: Doris Ammons of Elyria; Ella Mae Ammons-Davis of Lorain; Linda Ammons of Elyria; and Nancy Ammons of Columbus, OH. She also leaves to cherish her memories her in-laws, Renee Fenderson, Vickie Greenhill, Garry Greenhill, Raymond Jackson (Marlene) she is also survived by a host of other adoring nieces and nephews, and a large network of other family members and friends.  she was preceded in death by her parents Adella & Willie Ammons, Billy Ammons, mother and father in-law Alma & Gus Greenhill, sisters-in-law Sandra, Valarie Greenhill-Brooks brother in-laws Fredrick, Sherman and Willy Payne. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 2 to 5 p.m.  at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.  Due to Covid-19 guidelines, those attending will be required to wear a mask and follow social distancing recommendations. 

The family has designated those memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Or donation can be sent ($donationgreenhill) for one Big donation.
