Emerson Jones

Emerson H Jones, 82 of Lorain went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18th, 2021. He was born January 22nd, 1939 in Elyria, Ohio.  Emerson retired from US Steel after 30 of years of dedicated service and filled his retirement years doing the things he loved. 

Emerson was known around Lorain for doing one of the things he loved to do and that was riding his bike something that you would see him doing all around town and he did it well into his 70’s.  He was a skilled accomplished bowler and was on a bowling league for over 20 of years, bowled for several teams, championships with Senior Friendship Badgers 2014/2015 & 2017/2018 and with his last team Over The Hill Gang 2004/2005.

  He also enjoyed , fishing, playing bingo and playing cards and cherished spending time with his family and friends, He was very humble and loving, all who knew him or have ever met him have been touched by him in some way. He had a smile that would just warm your heart.  He was truly a special person, a great simple man who was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his family and friends... 

Emerson leaves to cherish his memory his   son Alan Jones of Lorain, and  brothers; Arthur (Linda) Jones Jr of Illinois, Douglas (Stephanie) Jones and John Jones of Illinois, sister Joyce Bullock of Illinois, 4 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Floster Rena Jones; stepmother Ruth Jones; life-long partner Gloria Jones; son Darryl Jones and daughter-in-law Delores Jones.

Friends may call on Friday February 26, 2021 from 10 – 11 am @ Carter funeral Home on Elyria Ave, Lorain.  Funeral service will follow immediately for immediate family. Please wear Mask and Social Distance !
