Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson Obituary

Elizabeth better known as Betty was born on January 16, 1967 to Kathryn L. Johnson Smith and Wylman F. Johnson in Gary, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her mother Kathryn L. Johnson, maternal grandparents: Worney Smith Sr., and Janie Mae Cleveland; paternal grandfather: Wylman Johnson; Uncle Worney Smith Jr; sister Michelle Wilson, and great nephew Tyler Johnson Jr.Elizabeth grew up in Lorain, Ohio and attended Admiral King high school she was an all star track and field athlete winning many competitions and a member of the school marching band. Elizabeth graduated at the top of her class as the valedictorian receiving her general education diploma from Lorain County Community College.

Betty was a supporter of civil rights and participated in the million man march in 1995. In 1999, while working for progressive processing she became a member of Women Of Steel – United Steel Workers. Shortly after, she became a member of Hard Hatted Women. On January 8, 2000, Elizabeth was ordained as an Evangelist. Betty loved being with family and Friends, especially her two grandsons and daughter Kimberly. Betty could brighten up any room with her smile. You would hear Betty before you would see her! Elizabeth was a very vibrant spirit and will be truly missed.

As with any good book, all stories must come to a close. The book of Elizabeth Betty L. Johnson closed on January 8, 2021. She leaves to treasure her loving memory her only child Kimberly O. L. Johnson, grandchildren: Isaac Lynch and Jeremiah Lynch, father: Wylman F. Johnson, siblings: Wylman M. Johnson Sr., Kimberly Johnson, David Johnson Sr., And Tasha Johnson. Also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
