Elaine Edwards-McKinney

Elaine Edwards McKinney age 66 departed this life surrounded by her family early Tuesday morning following a long illness on November 23, 2021. She was born August 14, 1955. Elaine was educated in the Ayer school system and was a graduate of Colorado Women’s College. She was married to Joseph McKinney for 48 years and they had one son to this union.

Elaine worked for Lorain County Community College as a staff assistant in the Social Sciences/Human Services Division for many years until her illness would not allow her to continue. Elaine also worked for Hensel Phelps Construction Company with the building of the Denver International Airport.

Elaine was a member of The Almighty Church. She had a humble and quite spirit. She enjoyed her grandchildren, music and she especially loved movies. She loved traveling and preparing food for her husband. One of her hobbies was writing.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Joseph, son Erin, one brother Ernest A. Edwards, grandchildren, Zhianti (Ziggy), Gavon, Vanessa and Mila, 7 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Ernest B. Edwards and mother Leonila B. Edwards.

Friends may call December 1, 2021 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 3001 Elyria Ave, Lorain at 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
