Elaine Card Obituary

Elaine Edwards Card, a cherished mother, wife and grandmother and friend, entered her Eternal rest, on June 5th, 2025, at University Hospital main campus. Surrounded by her husband and loved ones.

Elaine graduated from Elyria West High school, the 1st graduating class of that year.  She later married the love of her life Mr. Milton Card on August 26th, 2006. She started her spiritual journey at Glorious Apostolic Church (Foster)and has continued her Love for worship and praise at Friendship Baptist Church.

Elaine was born in Elyria on August 6th, 1957, to the late Nathaniel and Mittie Lee Holmes, and a bonus dad Willie T Edwards. 

She enjoyed being out with friends, always had someone around her and loved shopping and collecting and was not afraid to ask for anything she wanted. She loved her family and would make sure that she had a connection with each and every one of them in her own way no matter what type of health issues Elaine had, she was constantly on the go. She loved cooking and sharing her food along with her husband and often fed friends.

Elaine  leaves to cherish her memory husband, Milton Card, her children Christopher Edwards of Lorain, Sharde Edwards of Elyria, sisters: Karen McClendon of Oberlin OH, Deborah Hancock (Herbert) of Oberlin OH, Sharon Smith of Detroit, Michigan, Janice Morgan (Leonardo) Highland Park, Michigan, and Caroline Hale of Savannah TN, bonus sister Linda Harrell of Lorain, OH, brothers: Nathaniel Edwards of Detroit, Michigan, Gregg Edwards of Columbus, OH  Qywanda Williams (Yvette) of Elyria, OH and bonus brother, James Smith of Elyria, OH, Godson Javien Franklin,  and her grandchildren: Aamir Edwards, Kaleah Perkins, Cameron Edwards, Caiden Edwards, S'Mya Edwards,  her  nieces and nephews, who loved her  dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Kathy Edwards, Brenda Holmes, and God daughter Cheris Glinsey.

Family will have visitation on Monday June 16th, 2025, at 10am with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11am. Services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church 2160 Reeves Ave Lorain, OH.
