Edward Frank "Eddie" Nelson Sr.

Edward Frank (Eddie) Nelson Sr., 63, of Elyria, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, following an illness surrounded by his loved ones. 

He was born February 26, 1961, in Elyria, Ohio, to his parents, Elwood Earl Nelson Sr. and Mildred Jean (Glass) Nelson. 

Edward was an artist; he loved working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, making wood wall plaques for family and friends, and making art requests. Edward loved throwing darts, playing horseshoes and cornhole. Edward was always the life of the family gatherings, picnics, and parties. Edward truly knew that giving was more blessed than receiving; his generosity knew no bounds. His kindness and providing when he could for those around him were part of who he was. Edward loved his family! 

He will be deeply missed by his children Kandius, Erica (Terrance), Edward Jr, Adrena, Edward II, Tyeisha, and Raheem; grandchildren Kyona, Dakariah, Arthur, Terrica, Terrance, Ja'Neja, Ny'Eda, Jennavecia, Angelina, Aze'on, De'yon, Kylan, Richard, Darius, Da'Rius, Samijah; great-grandchild Marcellis, his caretaker and niece Akeea Nelson; brothers Elwood Jr. (Nattley), Clayton, and Robert; sisters Marva, Glenda, Esther, Audrey, Pamela (Cornelius), and Patricia (Kevin); nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

Edward was preceded in death by both of his parents, Elwood and Mildred Nelson; brothers Dwayne and Larry; and sisters Yvonne, Joanne, and Earlene.

Edward will be having a private viewing for family members only.
